The New Rochelle YMCA has not received funding from Westchester County for any of its programs it provides families in New Rochelle, Pelham, Mount Vernon, Larchmont and the Bronx. However, this year, New Rochelle YMCA CEO Jennifer Ryan Safsel, the New Rochelle YMCA Board of Directors, its staff and members are advocating for funding for important programs from senior services from mobility and movement classes that help with chronic illness, to expanding affordable after school, Universal Pre K and summer camp programs that give a safe haven for children, to early childhood intervention programs that would assist families to identify and nurture children with special needs.

Plans and preparations are underway for the 2020 County Budget. In advance of releasing the budget in November, the Westchester County Executive has scheduled two public meetings in October. Three additional sessions with the County Board of Legislators will be held in November and December, after the budget is released.

Please attend one of the public hearings. Numbers Count. We need hundreds of people to join us at the hearings to urge legislators to add the New Rochelle YMCA into their budget.

Although the sessions start at 7:00 p.m., it’s important for our programs and services so please come early, so we can sit together.
