Walk With Ease

silver sneaker logoThe New Rochelle YMCA is proud to offer the Arthritis Foundation Walk with Ease Program. Walk with Ease is a six-week group exercise program that can reduce pain and improve overall health. Learn how to walk safely and comfortably, while improving your flexibility, strength, and stamina! If you can be on your feet for 10 minutes without increased pain, you can have success with Walk with Ease.

When: January 18th - February 19th 

Mondays, Wednesdays, & Fridays

Time: 4:00 - 5:00 pm

SilverSneakers Program

silver sneaker logoThe New Rochelle YMCA, along with Healthcare Dimensions Inc. and Empire Blue Cross Blue Shield HMO, will offer the SilverSneakers Fitness Program to eligible Senior Citizens. This is a program that includes a full membership to the YMCA, which includes our popular SilverSneakers Fitness Classes.

SilverSneakers® – Cardio

Get up and go with an aerobics class that’s safe, heart-healthy, and gentle on the joints. The work-out includes easy to follow low impact movement, and upper body strength, abdominal conditioning, stretching and relaxation exercises designed to energize your active lifestyle.

SilverSneakers® – Classic

Have fun and move to the music through a variety of exercises designed to increase muscular strength, range of movement, and activity for daily living skills. Hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles, and a ball are offered for resistance, and a chair is used for seated and/or standing support.

SilverSneakers® - Yoga

Yoga will move your whole body through a complete series of seated and standing yoga poses. Chair support is offered to safely perform a variety of postures designed to increase flexibility, balance and range of movement. Restorative breathing exercises and final relaxation will promote stress reduction and mental clarity.
